Just a mere 62 km away from Seoul, this location was where the ceasefire armistice was signed in July 1953 to put a stop to the Korean War that had raged for three years between North and South Korea. Although U.S. President Donald Trump stepped over to North Korea for just a minute and met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for 53 minutes, the image of the two men shaking hands heightened hopes that the Korean peninsula could move further towards denuclearization and peace. The institute also publishes a diverse range of books on the environment for everyone from children to experts. Recently, the institute exported publishing rights of 13 books to Vietnam and Turkey, and some of them have already been translated and introduced to the local markets there. This year, seven books including The Facts Within the Fairy Tales: Aesop's Stories of Nature will be released in Vietnam, while another called Exploring the World of Ant will be sold in Turkey. South Korean bestsellers in August Bestsellers at South Korea's biggest online bookstores, YES24 and Aladin   2019.09.09   As of the third week of August 2019, readers' interest in bilateral relations between South Korea and Japan peaked, largely attributed to a diplomatic rift between the two countries. As a result, Anti-Japan Tribalism rose to become the best-selling book at YES24 and second best-selling book at Aladin last month. Essay collection Why Travel ticked down to third and fourth place in the bestseller lists respectively, but it showed sustained popularity.
